Smarter seating technology at OT World focuses on skin health and sustainability
Aalborg, Denmark, April 2026. As the orthopedic community gathers for OT World, the focus on patient comfort and long-term skin health has never been more critical. We are pleased to invite members of the press and industry professionals to explore the now and future of seating through Programmable Foam® technology by Create it REAL.
Create it REAL is based in Aalborg, Denmark, and we develop production technology for orthotics and prosthetics that challenges traditional manufacturing methods. This year, we highlight the intersection of advanced 3D printing and clinical excellence, offering a solution to the ever-standing problem of heat and moisture retention in wheelchair seating. In short, our focus is on preventing pressure injuries because we know end users’ lives depend on wheelchairs, and seating is the key to a great life.
This time, we have teamed up with our French partner, Groupe Tolda, which runs several clinics in the Marseille area and operates a successful print-on-demand service.
A clinical and technical deep dive
The centerpiece of our participation at OT World is our active booth in the 3D printing area of Hall 1. Our team of experts will explain how we continue to push the boundaries of technology. Especially Programmable Foam® has taken the market by storm, and people worldwide have read the whitepaper, ‘When your life depends on wheelchair seating: 11 facts about microclimate that can save lives’.

The white paper is the starting point for a workshop titled ‘How Programmable Foam® reduces pressure injury risks by improving microclimate’. Traditional foam often acts as an insulator, trapping heat against the skin. In this session, our founder and CTO, Jeremie Gay, shares technical learnings from the intensive testing and certification of Programmable Foam® for seating aids. Joining him is Jan Warnke from the RAS team, who will present real-world patient cases. Together, they will demonstrate how precision-controlled microclimates have transformed lives in clinical practice by optimizing pressure distribution and moisture dissipation.
'We believe that technical innovation should always serve a clinical purpose,' says Jeremie Gay. 'With Programmable Foam®, we are giving professionals the ability to master the microclimate while reducing the manual labor and carbon footprint associated with traditional manufacturing.'

Experience the comfort at our booth
We invite all visitors to step into our booth to experience the technology firsthand. You will have the opportunity to test our cushions and feel the difference Programmable Foam® technology makes for airflow, comfort, and pressure distribution. It is an excellent opportunity to discuss how easy it is to implement sustainable, additive-manufactured alternatives into your existing workflow.
