Street art and dinner in Aalborg
CEO Jacob Nissen’s first statement when introducing our team to a celebration and social activity was that we must celebrate ourselves after a busy period. This was followed by a champagne toast and some snacks before we headed out of the office into the city of Aalborg.
Exploring Aalborg
Our company’s identity is deeply rooted in our origins. At Create it REAL, we strongly bond with Aalborg University, where many of our colleagues have earned degrees. This academic connection is a source of pride for us, as is our shared love for the city of Aalborg, affectionately known as the ‘Paris of the North’ for its vibrant entertainment areas.
After a quick calculation, we realized that all employees live in or have previously lived in Aalborg. The question for our social after-work activity in May was whether we could still learn something new and be inspired by our city. Indeed, the city is part of our collective heart and soul.
For those unfamiliar with Aalborg, it has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past 15 years. It has shifted from an industrial hub to a vibrant cultural center, offering diverse residential options, from luxurious penthouse flats to student apartments. This transformation is a testament to our city’s resilience and adaptability, and it was the theme of our afternoon activity, where we had a guided tour of some of the central street art pieces.
The street art movement started as a project in 2013, resulting in 83 art pieces in the world’s biggest outdoor gallery, which stretches around the entire city. In a two-hour session, we covered the central city from our office at Hjulmagervej to the restaurant Struktur. The tour was an eye-opener for many of us and a great experience exploring the city from a new angle. Below, there are some pictures from the tour.
Nice dinner
After the guided tour, we had a delightful dinner with wine or alcohol-free cocktails. We all enjoyed a cozy social activity, celebrated a busy winter and spring, and looked forward to an exciting summer.
